The Largest Solar Power Plant of Qom Opened

As reported by Public Relations Department of Ghadir Energy Investment Company, the 10 MW power plant was opened and put into operation in Kooh Sefid Region of Qom on a plot of land with an area of 20 hectares in the presence of the Governor of Qom, Deputy to Minister of Energy in Power & Energy and Head of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA), provincial directors and authorities and directors of the companies of Ghadir Holding Company.

This power plant has more than 37 thousand polycrystalline solar panels. Sum of 10 million Euros has been invested on this project through a guaranteed power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. Its job creation during the construction period was 200 tons directly and 700 tons indirectly.

Considering the number of sunny days in Qom Province (more than 300 days), the infrastructures for solar energy generation are suitable in Qom Province and allocation of 100 hectares of land to this matter and coordination and cooperation of the directors from energy and economy sectors has created proper conditions for participation of investors in this area.

This power plant is the third solar power plant in Iran which is equipped with the solar tracker so that the electric energy generating cells move with the solar rotation so that they can generate a higher amount of energy during the day.
